12 Affirmations For the New Year

sessions

Hello Beauties!!

Welcome to 2018! I hope that 2017 brought you lots of love, joy and life lessons. I found out recently that the number 7 is the number of completion, of wholeness, while the number 8 is the number of new beginnings and new season! I hope that 2018 is going to be a TRUE year of new beginnings for you!

This year, instead of reflecting on the last year, I wanted to do something different. Going along with the new beginnings, I wanted to go into the year with each month with a sentence/phrase of affirmation.

  • January – “I am enough.”
  • February -“I love myself. I am lovable and deserve to be loved.”
  • March – “Focus on your responsibilities and make those great.”
  • April – “I am committed to my goals and my success is assured.”
  • May – “Today, I’m moving in the direction that is best for me.”
  • June – “I am the creator of my reality, whatever I focus on I can create.”
  • July – “People only do what you allow them to do, whatever you allow them to do, they will do it. “
  • August – “I am perfect, whole and complete, exactly as I am. I am great because I am ME.”
  • September – “I acknowledge my own self worth; my confidence is soaring.”
  • October – “They say “time changes everything,” But YOU have to change things yourself!”
  • November – “I am grateful for the good things that happened in the past year, and for the lessons from the bad things!”
  • December – “I am worthy of being happy most of the time.”

Take each month’s affirmation – and meditate on it for the entire month. I meditate on it by saying it multiple times a day, you can meditate on it by placing it on a sticky note on mirror or whatever works best for you. I wish you all the best 2018 and the 2018 that you all need for your future. You deserve it. I love you all a bunch.

Monday Morning Thoughts: You Deserve A Break, too.

I am a firm believe that our minds and bodies will tell you everything you need to know about yourself. Whenever I am getting extremely stressed out, nothing makes sense. I struggle to do even the simplest of tasks. I even start to panic about things that are not that serious. Normally, these are the signs for me that I need to take a break from everything and recollect myself. There are signs that your body gives you too – maybe reacting to things negatively, becoming pessimistic, or even becoming sickly.

You are so strong, but you deserve (and need) a break sometimes. Take time this week to unplug yourself from the world. Focus on clearing your mind and taking a break. Go to a coffee shop and read your favorite book for a few hours with your phone off. Go to the beach and listen to the water. Spend your entire day in bed if you want to. But take that break, you deserve it.

Stay Encouraged,

Word [of] Encouragement Wednesdays: 7/15

“A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.” – James Keller

You should always try to light the candle of another person, in other words, inspire them. Honestly, you have nothing to lose, you can only gain. The world can literally only gain from having more light in the world. As Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that.” So start today by encouraging people to pursue their dreams, and goals and lighting more candles in the world. Be a positive force of goodness, that spreads like a wildfire. Stay Encouraged.

Words [of] Encouragement Wednesday: 7/8

“When everything seems to be going against you, remember that an air plane takes off against the wind, not with it.” ~Henry Ford

Even when things get hard and seem impossible, you must keep going! You can do whatever you set your mind to. Just like a plane, once you start taking off you will be unstoppable. When things start to get overwhelming, stop and take a moment to reground for a moment, and then keep going! Stay Encouraged.

Love Yourself Challenge Week Three: Meditate On This!

So week three’s challenge was to take 3 minutes of my day, and really think about this quote and what it means. “People often say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I say that the most liberating thing about beauty is realizing that you are the beholder,” -Salma Hayek.

Meditating on this quote gave me the opportunity to more deeply understand how I view beauty. Beauty is different to everyone. I am the beholder of beauty. I am the judge of what is beautiful to me. When I journey throughout my day I notice things, I notice the earth, other people, my environment, and myself. I think to myself of the things I long to see, and I awe at sights that I deem beautiful. It is so easy to look into the mirror and to think that I am not beautiful, but it is also so easy to look into the mirror and to think wow I’m so beautiful. When I look in the mirror I either see myself how I think other people see me or how I truly see myself. How I truly see myself is always more positive than how I think others view me. I’m not sure why so often when I look into the mirror I think of how others see me first. The truth is that I will never know how others see me, so it is pointless for me to try to imagine. I am beautiful to me and that is all that matters. God granted me, and no one else, authority over my body. Therefore, I should never give someone else power over me by placing their opinions of myself above my own. When I look in the mirror I see God’s precious daughter. I see a Godly woman destined for greatness. I see God’s masterpiece, a one of a kind sculpture. When I look in the mirror I see my beauty. I see my perfections and my flaws and I marvel at how they work together to make me who I am. We are the beholders of our own beauty. No one else should ever hold that power over us. We are beautiful, we are God’s magnificent creations.

With Love,

“But remember that you have to move on, somehow. You just pick your head up, and stare at something beautiful like the sky, or the ocean, and you move the hell on.” – James Patterson

Moving on is hard, because it requires you to let go of the past, and step into the unknown (also known as the future). But you have to move on, especially if you are currently in a situation that is causing you pain. Leaving your painful situations or negative people is not a sign of weakness – it’s the purest forms of self-love, self-preservation. It’s okay to walk out of someone’s life especially if you don’t feel wanted or cared for in their life. One of the best and most rewarding things you will ever do for yourself is love yourself. Once you’ve decided to let go of that pain and move on, you’ve become one of the strongest people in the world. You can do it, even when things get super hard. I believe in you. Stay Encouraged.

Words [of] Encouragement Wednesday: 6/3

“Success tastes sweeter when you’ve earned it.” –@TheWorkHer

The more you work for something, the better you will feel about it. My parents always say that the more you work for something the more you appreciate it, the same goes for success. The harder you work for your goals, and missions in life, the better it will feel once you accomplish them. Don’t get discouraged if something doesn’t come in the time you believe it should, or if you experience a set back! Just keep going, and working hard. Stay Encouraged.

“If a train doesn’t stop at your station, then it’s not your train.” – Marianne Williamson

Don’t force or chase things that aren’t meant to be for you. If it is meant for you, it will come to you, or you will definitely have a way of knowing its for you. This goes for relationships (romantic or otherwise) too. Stop chasing people, the people who are supposed to be in your life will be there. Stay Encouraged.
